Understanding the differences between these formats is crucial:

Acronis does not offer a one-click "Save as ISO" button. Instead, you must convert the TIBX to a virtual hard disk (VHD/VHDX) and then convert that to ISO, or use Acronis's Universal Restore.

Note: This creates a bootable environment that can read your .tibx files. To perform a restore, you will store your .tibx backup file on an external hard drive or network share, boot the PC/VM using this new ISO, and point the Acronis wizard to your backup.

: If the .tibx was a system backup and you want a bootable ISO, use PowerISO or UltraISO . These tools allow you to "Copy Disk to Image File" and select ISO as the output format.

files and ISO files serve two very different purposes in the world of data storage and system backups. However, users often find themselves needing to convert a TIBX file (a proprietary backup format from Acronis True Image) into a standard ISO file (a sector-by-sector disc image).

(Resulting ISO is data‑only, not bootable)

Acronis allows you to convert its proprietary backups into standard Microsoft Virtual Hard Disk files.

TIBX files are designed to be used exclusively within the Acronis ecosystem. Without an active Acronis subscription or installed software, you cannot easily extract your data. This vendor lock‑in is a significant disadvantage for users who want to move away from Acronis or avoid ongoing subscription costs.

Acronis does not have a direct "Save as ISO" button. However, you can use the combined with a recovery image to create a functional ISO that contains your TIBX data.

: If you just need the files in an ISO format, use a tool like Folder2ISO to select the restored folder and generate a standard disk image.

Hover over (or Acronis Cyber Protect) in the context menu, and select Mount .

: An ISO of a restored system will not be bootable unless you manually recreate boot sectors (EFI/BIOS). Acronis does not natively export TIBX → ISO.
