Converting a VVD to OBJ is not a simple "Save As" operation. Because the VVD relies heavily on the accompanying MDL and VTX files, you cannot convert a VVD in isolation. The VVD contains the raw vertices, but it does not necessarily know how they connect to form polygons without the instruction set provided by the MDL file.
To understand your VVD file, it helps to know the scanning process. The Minolta Vivid 3D scanner captures an object's shape and color data from multiple positions. It then assembles these scans into a single, unified 3D mesh, which is saved as a .vvd element file. The VVD file is the raw, high-polygon mesh that forms the basis for further work in other applications.
While "VVD" most commonly refers to , it can also represent data from Konica Minolta Vivid 3D scanners
: Sites like Enjoying3D VVD Converter handle raw engine properties natively.
: To get a complete OBJ model, you must have the companion .mdl and .vtx files in the exact same directory as your target .vvd file.
This interleaving is optimized for Direct3D rendering pipelines, allowing for rapid uploading to the GPU.
The conversion from VVD to OBJ is an act of reduction. The VVD format is deeply integrated with the Source engine's animation system.
In the field, browse and select your .mdl file (Crowbar will automatically read the accompanying .vvd file). Set your Output To destination folder. Click the Decompile button.
: Once the model is open in Blender, use the standard File > Export > Wavefront (.obj) option to save it in the format you need. Why VVD Files Are Unique
The Schuhfried VTS enables computer-assisted application of a large number of highly diverse psycho-diagnostic tests and measuring procedures. In developing the system much emphasis was placed on transparent structure and largely uniform design. It is therefore simple to operate and easy to understand and does not require any special computer skills. This VTS basic module is required for administration of any of the available tests.
